Kristen Bell is an actress that’s on this writer’s list of must-see projects. She always seems to be in something entertaining. When the preview for The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, this writer was shocked. This didn’t seem like her normal role. After watching it, he found out that it’s a change from her normal roles with hints of her normal shenanigans.

The title The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window lets the audience know this was a spoof. The Netflix project hit on bad murder shows, novels, and Lifetime movies. They also mocked the normal tropes like an alcoholic, wine drinking, divorced gorgeous woman, and attractive, widowed British neighbor with an adorable kid. 

While The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window was a parody, this was a phenomenal mystery project. Every time you thought you knew who the killer was, you find out that you were wrong. A crucial part of any mystery show or movie. The creative team did a fantastic job setting the stages to keep the audience guessing.

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window was worth binging. This writer couldn’t stop watching it until it was over. The combination of mystery, comedy, and drama blended perfectly. There were almost no lulls and filler moments throughout the eight-episode season. Having the show remain under 30 minutes contributed to this. 

If there is any criticism it’s that the show could be too silly at times. While this writer embraced that part, some viewers may not enjoy it. However, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window being the No. 1 Netflix project on its opening weekend may mean that this didn’t bother the audience at all.
